Color in Flowers Arrangements

By Robbie Darmona Color determines the tone of flower arrangements to a large extent. If you decide to create specific flower arrangements, you need to carefully choose the nuance of the flowers. They can be different, due to the artificial breeding of different flower types. Colors can either attract audience or convert the attention from your flower arrangements. It can have a positive or a negative effect on the perceivers. Colors reveal your feelings and provoke different emotions, such as happiness, sadness, love, cheerfulness, or serenity. Flowers used in flowers arrangements can be of different hues and shades depending on their crossbreeding and other agronomic procedures as well. Roses are a typical example of what continual crossbreeding can do. Roses are found in hundreds and hundreds different types. They can be found in almost all shades imaginable. Now a recent trend is to have roses with some petals different in color from the others. This artificial procedure of breeding is very popular among rose lovers and agronomist. Flower arrangements depend so strictly on choosing the right color combination, that you may even need extra help to sharpen your color taste and sensitivity. The color circle can be the ideal tool. It is a circle where all the colors are drawn, including the three basic ones- red, yellow and blue, the secondary ones, as well as the intermediate ones. The first thing you need to know if you want to have success in making flowers arrangements, is which are the three primary colors. All the other colors are made from combining the three primary colors. Red, yellow and blue cannot be made when combining secondary or intermediate colors. Flower arrangements depend on the basic colors. Flowers are often found in various combinations of the primary colors. You need to know what basic emotion each primary color brings to mind. Red is the color of passion. If you like your flower arrangements to acquire a passionate feeling, use red flowers when creating the bouquet. Red reminds you of Christmas and valentines. Yellow is the color of brightness and joyfulness. It is used for creating flower arrangements in birthday parties or in baby flower arrangements. It evokes feelings of youth. Whichever color combination you choose for your flower arrangements, first of all, ask yourself what the event is, and which color will most fit to the purpose. Interview Question: Why Did You Leave Your Last Job?

By Carl Mueller How should you answer the question “why did you leave your last job” especially if you were forced to leave because you didn’t get along with your boss? If you voluntarily left the company and are asked in an interview why you left your last job, you might approach it in several ways. You could simply tell the truth and briefly tell the interviewer that you and your supervisor had a disagreement and you decided it was in your best interest to leave the company and pursue other employment. Alternatively, you could answer the question in more general terms and suggest that it was simply time to do something different and that you left the company to pursue alternative employment. Either way if you can get several positive references from this employer, this will help your cause. I suspect you won’t want to use your supervisor as a reference but hopefully you can utilize other people you used to work with who will positively speak of your experience and skills while employed at the company. The reality is that we won’t necessarily get along with every single person we work with and conflict sometimes occurs. I have helped job searchers who got into a dispute with their boss and who left the company as a result. Any concern I had with this person was alleviated when I was able to get a good reference check from several of their former colleagues. If you anticipate that a company might have a problem with why you left your previous employer, proactively offering references from this company to the interviewer can help prove that you have nothing to hide and that they have nothing to fear by employing you. Teaching Moments - Are You Frustrated With Public Schools?

By John Bishop Join a growing number of parents and teachers! Fact: Last year, our nation spent over $382 Billion on education. Over 99% was spent on developing “learning environments” - buildings, books, science labs, teachers, sports programs, etc. The other part of the equation – what children can do for their education - is almost entirely overlooked. As concerned adults our focus must be on the other side of the equation – getting children to take more ownership of their education. We must give them the tools to “step up to the plate” and take positive action on their education? The key is goal setting! But, wait a minute. Aren’t they already teaching that in school? Yes, but there is a significant difference between the way public and private schools teach these important life skills. Why the difference between public and private school? Private schools: 1. Make goal setting and educational ownership a priority. 2. Integrate these principles into the student’s educational experience. 3. Students are taught that they are directly responsible for the quality of their education. 4. Goal setting and educational ownership are fundamental parts of their students’ and schools’ success. Public schools: 1. Teach goal setting as a small part of a bigger program. 2. Are under enormous pressure to complete the bigger program in a specific time. 3. Goal setting and educational ownership are not integrated into the school’s curriculum. 4. Do not teach students how to specifically use goal setting in the classroom. Did you say “that’s my school” to any of the above statements? Many parents cannot afford to send their children to private schools, but they still want them to have the necessary tools to succeed. Your child will benefit greatly when they learn how to set and achieve goals and how to use these principles in school. When your child takes educational ownership they take personal responsibility to do something meaningful and positive to change their lives. Your child will learn that they play a significant role in their education and in their future. With educational ownership comes dignity and self-respect. Will you be pushing your kids too fast? Certainly, you wish your kids could grow up at a slower pace than they have to today. You know they are being bombarded by negative influences from the Internet, the radio, TV, MTV, etc. However, you understand that your most important job is to teach them how to meet the world’s challenges. You want your children to grow up to be honest and caring, responsible, to take initiative, and to be respectful adults. You want them to develop a positive attitude, minimize their fears, and to be successful at whatever they choose to do. In short, you want it all for them and you are willing to sacrifice to help them. Private schools make goal setting and educational ownership a priority for good reason. These are important keys to helping a child develop an “I’ll Make It Happen” attitude that will have a positive impact on their school participation, student achievement, character development, attendance, discipline issues, and test results. When your child understands and implements the goal setting and educational ownership principles they will make better decisions, minimize excuses, take more responsibility, and embrace your efforts to help them succeed. Packaging HELP Needed

By JoAnn Hines Perhaps the number one request that I get is: Help me fix my product packaging. To which I always reply, What exactly is the problem? Surprisingly, very few people can actually answer why their product packaging isn’t working. It seems simple on the surface but the true packaging problem might be caused by multiple reasons or a host of things that you have not done. I’ve created a short check list to help you determine what might create the problem. So, lets think through a few potential problem areas that are easy to resolve. 1. Can you define your customer? Well, let me give you a clue. It’s not everybody (which is a common answer by the way). You should have a target demographic in mind and you have to understand their wants and needs before you can package a product for them. Universal packaging that satisfies everyone. That’s a myth. You can’t be all things to all consumers. More importantly, your packaging needs to be on target to the right audience with the right message. Drill down to your ultimate customer. Who is going to purchase your product and why? What is in it for them to purchase your product? Are you answers to those two questions evident on your product packaging? Here are a few examples: Is the product easy to use or simple to prepare? Are you telling them that on the packaging? Words like easy, simple, ready in X, no assembly needed are crucial to conveying your products attributes. Does the consumer need a solution for a busy on the go lifestyle? What about your product packaging addresses that issue? Is it portable, or easily carried, is it a single serving or portion? Consider this specific example: Campbell’s Soup at Hand is a great way to eat right when you’re on the run. Our heat-and-go microwavable cups let you enjoy sippable soup. Campbells saw a problem and provided a packaging solution. 2. Why would someone pick up your product off the shelf? Does it “speak” to your customer or is it tired and dull in comparison to the competition? Is it a different color, shape or does it have a unique feature that differentiates it from another product? Does it intrigue the consumer to take a closer look? Here is a good example. I recently had occasion to look for some nonstick cooking spray. I went to get my old standby which is PAM. When I got to the shelf I was fascinated by a new entry, Mazola Pure. The uniquely shaped can had a soft subtle textured look that begged me to pick it up for a closer look. The package told me things in simple language: no alcohol, no silicone and fat free. Guess which product I bought? 3. What is your USP (unique selling proposition) about your package? Are you a “me too” brand? Are you mimicking the competitions product rather than branding your own message? There has been a plethora of look alike products trading on name brands. Is it working? I don’t think so. First, you may be infringing on someone else’s trademark with “copycat packaging.” Second, consumers are seeking out high quality non-branded products. Private label packaging is on the rise at the expense of branded products. Think about what message you are conveying. Do you want to look like a cheap imitation or is your product packaging standing on its own merits? 4. How much competitive shopping have you done lately? When was the last time you walked the store isles? I know we all have an ego trip looking at our product up on the shelf. But I want you to step back and get a fresh perspective. Are you really seeing it from a consumers eyes? Shop other categories too. Look for packaging innovations that can crossover into your product category. Think about how a novel or unique product packaging approach can solve a consumer problem or issue. One of the best innovative packaging examples I saw recently was the introduction of Wish-Bone Salad Spritzers. They took a prime target (women) addressed dietary and health issues (weight watching) and provided an innovative way to dispense the product (spritzing vs. pouring). 5. What’s new in the world of packaging that you can incorporate into your product packaging? Does your package smell or talk or do a myriad of things that help differentiate your product from the competition? Does your packaging tell you when it will expire or offer a safe date to give the consumer peace of mind in using your product? Think product recall fears. How can your product packaging allay consumers nervousness about product contamination? The consumer wants to buy your product. That’s why they are in the store. Make it easy for them to decide on your product vs. the competitor. Talk to them through your product packaging. Make it easy to understand, simple to use and allow it to satisfy a need. Above all, step back and look at your product from a customers point of view. What aren’t you doing right that makes your packaging need HELP? Visit http://www.packaginguniversity.com/ to find out about the latest packaging innovations and “Consumer Trends That Can Make Or Break Your Business” or call Danielle for more details at 1-814-288-5451. I get hundreds of inquiries a month asking how to package products. Most of the time, they are in crisis mode because they did not think about the package until crunch time. I just got a call from an entrepreneur whose packaging was a disaster. She never thought about the role packaging plays in her products success until her retailer said “NO WAY” to her product packaging. She had to start over. As a result, she lost a great deal of money in the process. To help others learn that lesson before it is too late, I have come up with a basic workshop offering education on packaging products to sell. Whether you are an entrepreneur, inventor, work from home mom, or a small business person with an idea or product it is imperative to understand the role packaging plays in a successful product launch. Packaging 101it is simple and offers the basics of what you need to know. Are You Forgetting About Marketing?

By Biana Babinsky In the past issues we have discussed how passive income streams can help you make full time salary, without having to work full time. However, for your passive income streams strategy to be successful, you need one element to make that happen. This element is marketing. Your passive income streams are products that your customers buy. These are teleseminars, ebooks, manuals, lessons, web site memberships and many others. In addition to having great products, however, you also need to get buyers to purchase them. Without buyers you will not have streams of income - you will have products, but no revenue. This is why it is extremely important to keep working on creating your products, while having a working marketing plan for promoting them. Here are just a few marketing ideas that I have shared with my clients. Use them to turn your products into passive income streams: - Do market research before creating a new product. All of us have had product ideas that we loved. However, you don’t need to love you product - your customers do. If they don’t love them, or need it, no one is going to buy them. Save yourself time - do some informal (or formal!) market research before starting a new product. Your research will show whether your product will be the next or whether it is time to move on to the next idea. MarketingSalad.com, for example, was a response to many of my clients and potential clients who wanted to participate in online business coaching, but at much lower rates than I charge for one on one training. - Have a marketing plan in place before the product is ready. Even if your market research shows that your clients need the new product, think how you will promote beyond your clients. Start marketing before the product is ready; this will create the needed buzz to sell more products. - Keep marketing the product after it is done. Many times a business owner launches a new ebook, sends out a press release, posts about it in the newsletter, and moves on to the next product. Once you have a product, you have put your time into it; now you need to leverage the time spent and promote the product as much as you can. Your clients need to hear about a product 7 times on average, before making a purchase, so keep up your marketing to bring in more sales. - Learn about more online marketing techniques. Don’t use just one online marketing technique to promote your products. Using new and different techniques will help you reach many more potential customers, some of whom will purchase your products. Without marketing your products are just going to be sitting idle on your web site. Add marketing to turn the products into actual income streams for yourself and your business. Taking Away the Headache: Finding the Best Migraine Treatments

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Shalom_Issenberg] Shalom Issenberg Everything seems to be going well in your every day life. You are able to get everything done with your routines. However, this can easily stop once a migraine begins to take over your daily activities. If you are dealing with migraines, you want to make sure that you can find the best migraine treatments. This will give you the ability to continue with your daily life, and to enjoy the most out of all of your activities without having the pain get in the way. Holistic Migraine Treatments Getting rid of your migraines with the prescription medicines that are available is not always the best answer. However, you dont have to keep getting a headache over it. Instead, you can find alternative answers to stop the strain. By doing this, you can begin to get rid of your migraines when they start. Knowing the options that are available to you will help you begin your journey that doesnt start with a headache. One of the under stated treatments for migraine relief comes from one of the causes of migraines. Generally, migraines are known to be a reaction in the brain from expanded blood cells. If you want to work on an easy migraine treatment, then you can build a check list that includes things such as reducing your stress level, relaxing more, and exercising correctly. This will help you to minimize the effects that migraines may have on your daily life. Most recommend that a change in lifestyle is an important supplement to curing your migraine pain. Of course, if you are finding that this is not effective in slowing down the pounding in your head, than you can consider something different, such as acupuncture. Using acupuncture starts with finding pressure points in your body. Most of the time, these are directly linked to pressure points that are related to migraines. While there is little research that indicates that this is effective, most that use acupuncture as an alternative treatment note that it is effective in curing migraines. Another option that you can use is to simply place a heated pad or a cool pad over your forehead. This will mostly be effective for mild migraines or migraines that you catch before they begin to worsen. There are now kits that offer a migraine treatment as a cooling pad that you can find almost anywhere in order to help calm your head from the migraine. This, in combination with a dark room is known to slow down a migraine so that it is not as painful. A third potential way to help heal your migraine is through an herb known as feverfew leaf. This particular herb has gone through a wide range of research, all which points out to its effectiveness in being able to help cure migraines. This particular herb is known to work because it has parthenolide content in it. This particular chemical, when released works with the blood system by slowing down serotonin release and stimulating the platelets in the blood. The result is that the spasms that cause migraines to occur are slowed down, and sometimes even stopped. This particular herb can be taken with very few side effects as a supplement. For other alternative herbs that can be used as supplements for migraine treatments, you can look into magnesium and Riboflavin, also known as B12. Both of these supplements are known to provide preventative care. By simply adding in extra doses of these vitamins every day, you will have the ability to stop your migraines from happening in the beginning. Prescription Medicines for Migraine Treatment If you want something that has different types of supplements, then you can turn to the scientists for prescription medicines. There are a variety of available medicines that you can use, all that have been through the white coat test in order to offer the best relief. This, as an alternative to help the healing of your migraines is one that many consider in order to help solve the painful event of a migraine. The first set of migraine treatments that you will want to consider are ones for mild migraines. It is always best to take medication for a migraine before it gets worse, allowing you to stop the pain from taking over all of your daily activities. Any type of pain reduction medication, such as Aspirin can help to stop the migraine before it spreads too far. If you want something stronger than a pain reliever, and want to find something that focuses completely on migraines, then you can look at the various types of prescriptions that have been formulated for your headache. For example, Sumatriptan is a serotonin that has been made in order to trigger the chemicals in your body that link to the headache. The result is that your migraine will stop. Another possibility for prescription medication is Metoclopramide. This is a set of barbiturate compounds that are used not only for migraine headaches, but also for contraction headaches. Any type of medication that has this specific compound in it, or a combination of this and Sumatriptan, will be the most beneficial for soothing your migraines. No matter what the severity of your migraine, or the needs that you have, there are solutions that are waiting for you. Finding the correct solution doesnt have to be a headache. Instead, it can help in taking it away. Alternatives for the correct migraine treatments are available for all walks of life and all levels of migraines so that you can begin to dissolve the problem. Fall - A New Season - A New Decorating Scheme

By Bonnie P Carrier What exactly is fall? Being my favorite season, I decided to look it up and see how Mr. Webster defines it. Flipping to fall I found autumn, ok turning to that here is what it says, autumn, the season that comes between summer and winter. Well, thats pretty cut and dry and I think most of us already know that, so here is my interpretation. Autumn; cool days leading into brisk nights. Fresh picked apples, leaves ablaze with color, pumpkins, gourds, Halloween, Thanksgiving and a brand new opportunity to decorate your home. Im not sure about you, but one of the reasons I love the fall is that with the cooler temperatures, I seem to have a renewed energy level. Daily activities are suddenly not such an effort. Think about the things you can do with this newfound energy. Giving your home a good cleaning - after all who wants to do that when its 90 and the humidity level is so high it feels like it could rain inside your home - sorting through and discarding unwanted items in closets, drawers and cupboards. Admiring mother natures magnificent color show while taking walks with the family or a favorite four-legged fur baby. As mentioned above, this is also an opportunity for change in your homes dcor. Now Im not talking about a complete redo, just adding accessories that are fall related is all thats needed. Changing your window treatments from light summery fabrics and colors to something with a heavier texture and darker color is one quick way to warm up a room for fall. Add some warm throws over the back or arms of the furniture, change out the accent pillows to something with a fall print or warmer colors, even just one or two pillows can make a difference. Swap out summer flower arrangements for new ones that have a fall theme. Take a walk around your yard or in a neighborhood park or state forest and look for things to use, like unusual shaped twigs, pinecones, acorns and seedpods. Mixing these with store bought silk mums, preserved leaves or cat -o-nine tails in any type of container you may have will give a fall look to any surface. Hang a grapevine wreath adorned with colorful mums on your door, or how about using the wreath as a centerpiece. Lay it in the middle of any table and place a ceramic or even real pumpkin in the middle. Speaking of pumpkins, purchase a few - real or not - and spread them around your home both inside and out. Combine them with colorful gourds, apples, silk mums, leaves or berry vines in bowls or baskets for a festive look. Take a look around local discount and craft stores for artificial fruit. The advantage to these is once this season has passed they can be packed away until needed again next year, so this makes for a very economical and savvy investment. Scent is another indication of the fall season. Candles and potpourri in fall fragrances like pumpkin; spiced apple or cider will make walking into your home a wonderful experience. Below are a couple of favorites of mine. Potpourri - Natures Own Potpourri, located in Tennessee, I have used many different brands and this is by far the best. Some of my favorite scents are: Apple Tree, American Harvest & Country Retreat. Candles Village Candle Factory Store, located in Topsham Maine. Ive been burning candles for many years and these are my absolute favorite. As for the smell, well all I can say is yummmmm. Favorite scents consist of: Crisp Apple, Spiced Pumpkin, Mulled Cider & Gingerbread. How ever you decide to celebrate and decorate for fall, stay warm, get comfortable and settle in while you wait for the next season to visit. About The Author Bonnie P. Relationship Advice: Should I Stay or Should I Go?

By Jeff Herring When problems develop, it’s natural for couples to wonder if they should get out of a relationship. In my experience, many people are a little to quick to get out, when they could learn a lot by working on the relationship and working things out. Many people mistakenly think that if they get out of a relationship, then their problems are solved and they can move on. Geographical relationship cure I call this a geographical relationship cure. Just because you change who you are with, all your problems will not be solved. Usually the opposite happens. If you don’t deal with the essential issues that damaged the relationship, it’s quite likely those same issues will pop up in the next relationship. You may choose a completely different package, but the contents will be very similar. A stinking analogy An analogy would be not to bathe for a week, and then put on fresh clothes in hopes that the clothes will solve the problem. The clothes may be brand new, but eventually they are going to stink too. Some important issues to consider here would be: Have you kept your commitments, both to your partner and to the relationship? Have you done all you said you would do? What kind of influence are you on your partner? Are they better off as a result of being with you? It sometimes comes down to the Ann Landers question: “Are you better off with or without this person?” Visit http://www.SecretsofGreatRelationships.com for tips and tools for creating and growing a great relationship. If You Love Me

By Adeyemi Adetosoye If you love me, you will keep my commandments In the love games we play, and in all aspects of human endeavors, maintaining positive relations with each other is a must, to live in harmony and peaceful coexistence with each other. The surest path to keeping good relations with our fellow humans is to know what their dos and donts are, and adhere strictly to the same. An infringement of the donts should be followed by a sincere apology. A blatant refusal to acknowledge our basic differences, thereby stepping on each others toes, is indicative of a lack of respect and by extrapolation, lack of love. True love is only found and kept, when both parties realize that they have been born and bred in totally different environments and make accommodations to show tolerance and an understanding/acceptance of each others different proclivities. Naturally, they must have lots in common in the first place, to agree to go together. Even twins born of the same mother and out of the same womb, with lots in common, have a few grey areas they dont much see eye to eye on; how much less two complete strangers who are in love? Parents, who enforce rules, in love for their growing kids, expect those kids to obey the rules, or else; similarly, when dealing with adults, mutual respect and admiration can only be realized, when the two parties respect the commandments of each other. Since they must have very similar likes in the first instance, to be able to go together, recognizing the grey areas and communicating these effectively, early on in the relationship will guide that true love is found. Adherence or not to this will be a red flag, which may point to chauvinism. In future articles, I will dwell on the differences between love and being in love and testing for true love; core areas which are often confusing in the complex mix of male-female relations. Knowledge is NOT power; it is only empowering. The Application of Knowledge IS power.
